Aleksandar Ivančić is Mechanical Engineer, PhD in Thermal Science, and works with Barcelona Regional, Metropolitan Agency of Urban Development and Infrastructures. The main area of his professional interest is positioned within infrastructure planning, with a particular focus on energy systems. He was Technical Director of the Barcelona Energy Agency (2002-2003) and presently Chief Technical Officer of Barcelona Strategic Urban Systems. He has been invited as expert by various international institutions, like European Commission, Euro Heat&Power, International Energy Agency (IEA), Swedish Energy Agency or EcoDes, among others. He has been visiting Professor at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and the Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI) in Madrid and presently is Professor at Barcelona Institute of Architecture (BIArch).
